Running, Try 3

This morning, I took the kids to the playground and I ran week 1, day one of Couch to 5K.
I still have dreams of completing a 5K. It went well today, so I'm spending today making up playlists to listen to. Because to use last year's playlists would just be so passe. ;)

So this is me again (well, this is me from 3 years ago, but this is what I'm shooting for yet again!)

And now to stop procrastinating and start putting together my running playlists :D

I have an iPod nano. I'm going to the gym (they offered me a 3 week pass) and will fill it with 40's-60's music.

I love my iPod shuffle for running :) I need to get more oldies. Right now it's mostly Newsboys and TobyMac, though I'm adding in more variety as I find it in my music folders :D

I applaud you for putting yourself out there in your victories, defeats and uncertainties. That takes courage. More courage than the running, I think.
I only recently started writing about my running, and I'm still nervous about sharing - simply because I'm not very good at it but it's something I enjoy. ;)
8 more weeks until 13.1, 2 more weeks until 10.0. I'm getting nervous. ;)
You can totally do this. Just have fun and don't put too much pressure on yourself. Just run because you CAN. You can breathe and move and stand and see and hear and all these makes running beautiful. When I run, I don't listen to music, but music ends up "playing" in my head - the other day all I heard was, "Because Lord is GOd of heaven and earth...How can I keep from singing?" :) That was enough to keep me going.

Karen, that's SO awesome!! What an awesome thing to keep hearing :D

It's funny. I'm the opposite...if I share, it keeps me accountable. I'm more likely to get back out and run again and fight through the discomfort when I know I have friends who know I'm pushing through.
Of course, yesterday I gave myself (mild) shin splints, so I'll likely take off an extra day to let them heal before I go back out...
